What's the difference between 14 and 14W?
"14W" (with the W) is cut differently from a regular size 14. Plus sizes have:
• Wider hips relative to waist — accommodates a larger hip-to-waist ratio.
• More room in bust + bicep — straight sizing tightens here as sizes go up.
• Longer rise on bottoms — the seat is dropped to fit a fuller belly.
• Stronger fabric construction — reinforced seams.
If you wear both a 14 and a 14W comfortably, the W version will be more flattering on a curvier figure. The non-W is cut closer to a straight rectangle.

How to measure for plus sizing
Plus sizes vary MORE than straight sizes — measurements matter more than the size label.
Bust / chest
Wrap a soft tape around the fullest part. Keep horizontal. Don't pull tight.
Waist
Measure at your natural waist — usually 1–2 inches above the belly button, where your body bends sideways. NOT where pants sit.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of your hips/seat — usually 7–9 inches below the waist. Stand with feet together.
For men: chest, waist, hip, sleeve
Chest at fullest. Waist at natural. Hip at fullest. Sleeve from center back of neck, across shoulder, down to wrist.

What size is 1X?
Women's 1X = US 14W/16W = UK 18-20 = EU 46-48. It's the smallest "plus" size.
What's the difference between 2X and 22W?
"2X" is a letter-based plus size (similar to S/M/L). "22W" is a numbered plus size. They roughly map to each other: 2X ≈ 18W/20W. Same person, different brand conventions.
Can I wear regular sizes if I'm plus?
Sometimes — many straight-size brands now go up to size 18 or 20. But the cut isn't designed for plus proportions, so the fit may be off in the hips, bust, or rise. Plus-cut versions of the same size will fit better.
Why is plus-size more expensive?
Honestly, mostly because there's less competition and the audience is desperate for options — brands charge what they can. More fabric does cost a bit more, but not enough to justify the price gap. Affordable plus options: Old Navy, Walmart, Amazon Essentials, Target Ava & Viv.
