Sheet + duvet sizing notes
Fitted sheets
Match to mattress size exactly. Also check mattress depth — standard fitted sheets fit 10–13" (25–33 cm) deep. For pillow-top or extra-deep mattresses (15"+), get "deep pocket" sheets.
Flat sheets
One size LARGER than mattress for proper tuck-in. A King mattress needs a King flat sheet, often labeled "King flat" with dimensions 108×102".
Duvet covers / comforters
Should DRAPE over the mattress sides — typically 10–15 cm overhang per side. A Queen duvet (90×95") works for a Queen mattress; same name = correct size.
EU "Continental" sizes
EU sizes are measured by mattress width in cm. 140 cm = "Double", 160 cm = "Queen", 180 cm = "Super King" or "King Size" in continental markets. UK Kings are SMALLER than US Kings by 2 cm width.

What's the difference between Queen and King?
Queen: 60×80" (152×203 cm). King: 76×80" (193×203 cm) — same length, but 16 inches wider. King is best for couples + one cat/dog. Queen is the most popular US size.
What's a California King?
72×84" (183×213 cm). Same as King but 4" longer + 4" narrower. For very tall sleepers (6'4"+) or narrow bedrooms.
UK Double vs US Full?
UK Double = 135×190 cm. US Full = 53×75" (135×191 cm). Effectively the same. UK King = 150×200 cm. US King = 76×80" (193×203 cm) — US King is WIDER.
Can I use UK sheets on a US mattress?
No. Conversion sizes don't align cleanly: UK Double ≠ US Queen. Buy sheets sized for your region/mattress.
How often should I replace sheets?
2–3 years for percale/sateen cotton (heavy use). 5 years for high-quality linen. Pillow protectors and sheet sets last longer if washed every 1–2 weeks in cool water.
