How to measure for gloves

Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of your dominant hand — across the knuckles, just below the fingers, with thumb tucked in. Note the measurement in inches or centimeters.

Also measure the length: from the tip of your middle finger to the base of your palm. The larger of the two measurements determines your size.

Tip

Gloves should fit snugly but not tight. There should be a small gap (about ½ cm) at the tip of your fingers when you make a fist. For winter or work gloves, size up to allow for liners or movement.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know my glove size?

Measure your hand circumference (around the knuckles, excluding thumb) in inches. That number is your US/UK glove size. For example, a 7½ inch hand = size 7½.

What's a women's medium glove?

Women's medium is approximately 7–7½ inches (17.5–19cm) around the knuckles. EU sizes 7–7½.

Are work gloves and dress gloves sized the same?

Both use hand circumference, but work gloves often run looser to allow for grip and movement. Dress gloves typically fit closer for a tailored look.

What if I'm between sizes?

For dress, driving, or athletic gloves, size down for a snug fit. For winter, work, or insulated gloves, size up to allow for liners and reduce restriction.
